She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Mrs. Dacus invests a lot of time and energy into the success of Person High School. She is a leader in the classroom and around the school. As Key Club Advisor, she is working to grow school leaders and show them the importance of service to others.  This year, Mrs. Dacus has worked diligently to re-think instructional strategies and delivery in an effort to grow her students.  In addition, she has provided professional development to her colleagues this school year.  She is respected for what she knows and how she leads! Rachel Lewis, colleague, says, “Mrs. Dacus welcomed me into the PHS family from day one. She is so supportive and kind and always gives me the advice I need to hear. The English department at PHS is so close-knit, more friends than colleagues, and Mrs. Dacus is a huge part of that. I don't know what I would do without her!”
