The Interview and Employment Process
When vacancies occur, interviews are arranged with selected applicants holding proper qualifications. The principal/hiring administrator screens applications and selects eligible candidates for interview. Documents you will need to bring with you to your interview for licensed positions are signed application, transcripts, test scores, and copy of licensure. After interviewing these candidates, the principal/hiring administrator and his/her interview team makes a recommendation to the Director for Human Resources. All Offers of employment are extended from Human Resources Office.

The next step towards full employment, once you have been offered a
position by the Human Resources office, is to complete the Benefits information that is emailed to you by HR Administrative Assistant, Kathy Hall. Information regarding benefits can be found under SALARY AND BENEFITS All new employees should read the Person County School Employee handbook and the Code of Ethics for North Carolina Educators and sign the acknowledgement form
for having done so. In order to meet Federal E-verification
requirements, you must complete the information provided in the welcome email within THREE days.
You must bring the following to either your appointment scheduled or if a new teacher to the orientation:
- Any questions you may have concerning the completion of the forms
- A valid Driver’s license
- An authentic social security card
- A voided check for payroll direct deposit
If you are also applying for a NC Teaching License, please bring:
- A check for $85.00 made payable to NCDPI for the NC licensing fee.
If you are an in-state graduate and have successfully completed all of
the state’s licensure requirements, the licensure fee is $55.00.
- A copy of your out-of-state teaching license if applicable
- Official Transcripts (degree dated) for all coursework completed
- Any appropriate test scores (Praxis or other state tests)
