The Person County Board of Education met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. on March 14, 2016 at the Southern Middle School Auditorium. This meeting was in conjunction with Local Government Day activities. The Board received information on and took the following actions:

 The Board recognized the following:
 Burroughs Wellcome PRISM (Promoting Innovation in Science and Mathematics) Grant Recipient – Richard Kozak, Southern Middle School

Superintendent’s Update/Remarks
 Commendations on the Technology Fair held on March 10
 Reminder to the BOE members to participate in the 360 Survey
 Follow up comments about recent BOE Retreat held on March 3-4
 Teacher Working Conditions Survey – As of today, 63% of our staff have participated. We have two schools, Woodland and Helena, with 100% participation.
